"Help! I Have To Take Care Of A Kid!"
This is an 8 hour course directed to the nurse new to pediatrics or who doesn't normally take care of pediatric patients. This course looks at why kids aren't just small adults!
Objectives:
1. Describe the different characteristics
of children in each of the developmental age groups and how that will
apply to your practice with children.
2. Identify the steps in a basic
pediatric assessment.
3. Demonstrate calculation of
pediatric drug dosages and IV fluids.
4. Demonstrate a basic understanding
of pediatric IV therapy.
5. Identify common pediatric
problems and interventions.
6. Identify basic pediatric
emergency management.
7. Define family centered care.
