        An 8 contact hour seminar addressing patients that frequently "fall through the cracks" in our critical care areas. In smaller hospitals without multiple specialty units (and under today's managed care dictates)--we see patients in our critical care units that are not "typical". This program addresses their care and your concerns.
 

   II.  "Oncologic Emergencies"

           This 8 contact hour seminar looks at the care of the oncology patient facing these life-threatening conditions.

   IV.  "Swan Song--Understanding Basic Hemodynamics"

           8 hour seminar learning non-invasive and invasive hemodynamics. Could be combined with second 8 hour seminar (for total of 16 hours) on advanced hemodynamics.

    V.  "No Pain--All Gain"

          8 hour seminar with everything you ever wanted to know about pain management in the 21st century. (can be customized to a pediatric audience)

   VI.  "To Code or Not To Code--That Is The Question!"

          8 hour seminar reviewing all the basic dysrhythmias, their causes and interventions. Includes overview of critical conditions that could lead to a code. Review all the steps in a code and concludes with non-threatening "mock codes".

   VII.  "All About Cancer"

         8 hour seminar covering the causes of cancer, epidemiology, all of the major cancers, overview of cancer treatments, and the psychosocial aspects of a cancer diagnosis. Looks at oncology nursing from a holistic perspective. For both nurses specializing in oncology and nurses that just see cancer patients sporadically.

   VIII.  "Cancer Patients Have Hearts, Too"

         8 hour seminar looking at cardiac complications seen in the oncology population.

   IX.  "The ABC's of IABP"

          8 hour seminar teaching the basics of managing a balloon pump in the critical care setting available from an experienced IABP instructor.
