Cyndi's son, Joshua, has
Asperger's Syndrome. If you haven't heard of that before, it is a part
of the Autism Spectrum Disorders. People with A.S. are high functioning
(often extremely smart) but see the world in a different way from the
rest of us. They tend to get "obsessed" with certain topics, have poor
socialization skills, and are seen as odd by many people...
Josh is learning a lot about computers and is becoming quite good at it.
He has been drawing computer cartoons for me for several years that
have enhanced my presentations.
I tell him what I want, and he draws it for me.
We are working on a book of cartoons that will be sold at a reasonable
price. The book will also come with a CD of the cartoons and, if you buy
the book, you will have permission to use any of the cartoons in your
own presentations!
For now, he is displaying some of his work and selling some of the
cartoons on t-shirts, mugs, etc through Cafe Press. Some of my favorites
are the "Sleepy Time Dr's Progress Notes". These are things that MD's
have written in their progress notes on night shifts when they have been
overtired...and didn't realize that some goofy nurse was going to make
cartoons out of them!
